We know we can do this because we’ve done it before. Shivonne and Lucy have worked together on and off since 2010, first at Amref Health Africa and most recently at Women for Women International. On first joining Women for Women International – UK as Director of Fundraising and Communications in 2013, Shivonne was frequently told by supporters “this is the best charity no-one’s ever heard of”.

Over the next 8 years, Shivonne recruited a stellar team of fundraisers and communicators (including Lucy!) and together they built the brand of the charity in the UK to become one of the most sought-after and well-known in the sector.

This included recruiting A-list ambassadors like Sophie Turner, Dame Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson; forming first-class partnerships with organisations like Charlotte Tilbury and Net-A-Porter, Swarovski and the People’s Postcode Lottery; developing the leadership presence and external brand of key figures within the staff team to represent the brand externally; and creating innovative campaign and event concepts like the #SheInspiresMe Campaign, which saw Dame Helen Mirren join the charity as a supporter, the #SheInspiresMe LIVE Feminist Festival and the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale which helped to introduce the charity to a broader global audience.
